Express Your Love

It's 2013 and time to start a new Quilt Along! This year, we're starting a brand new format - multiple postings and videos each week and all of it focused on one single quilt:

This is Express Your Love, a goddess quilt I designed to represent my goal in 2013 to show more love to myself, my family, and the world.

You can find the official introduction video to this quilt along right here.

Here are the videos posted for this quilt so far:
Finally let's cover some key facts about this quilt along:

1. You can get started at any time. I'll be piecing new tops this spring and summer, so whenever you want to jump in is fine!

2. You do not have to quilt along in any particular order. Try out designs and techniques as you feel like trying them!

3. You don't have to try everything. There may be techniques that you just don't have any desire to play with. That's okay! Try what you want, whenever you want.

So it's pretty obvious with these three totally open, anything-goes rules that we will all end up with different quilts. That's okay!

The point of this quilt along is to have fun, to play, to experiment with new designs and techniques, and to make something meaningful. I have created many goddess quilts over the last 6 years and with each one found space to grow and change. You can view my full gallery of quilts right here.

Let's go quilt!

I just got the spoonflower panel in the mail yesterday. I need to get backing. I can't believe I can't find a yard of fabric that will work in my stash. I think I am going to outline with the thread that washes out. I have never used it, but thought this might be a good place to try it.

Thanks so much for putting the Express Your Love in one place on one tab! I was constantly scrolling through the blog to find them. So much easier this way!

Does the Isacord spool fit on a standard spool holder? It looks so big I just can't tell from the pictures. Thanks.

Leah,

I don't think I have been getting the weekly newsletters even though I am signed up. I did not get the Friday letter, but found it on your site.

Thank you for giving me the encouragement to have a go at free motion. Thanks to your helpful tutorials, no more boring straight lines and very few broken needles... :-)
